Hillary’s chances are slim at best…

I just read a well thought out post from a guy on Vox in Chicago who makes the points I’ve been making since her Super Tuesday #2 win… she doesn’t have a chance at winning this thing fair and square. Any further push by her campaign indicates either a profound denial of reality… or an even more profound lack of respect for the voters because if she wins this nomination because of the superdelegates at a brokered convention we might as well crown John McCain right now because the Democratic party will not be united and the Republicans will be (against her!)

I say all of this not because I don’t like Hillary. I do. She’d be a great leader… but she didn’t win this round. She should pack it up and live to fight another day.

UPDATE: Much is going on in the news cycle about this very topic right now… Despite stories that show Obama has much better favorable/unfavorable poll numbers, Hillary keeps attacking Obama on the very same issues that McCain is likely to attack him on… which makes her seem more like him and slowly takes away the advantage the Democrats have over McCain.

Go Hillary, go! Divide those Democrats!

Here’s hoping that Hillary will continue to shoot herself in the foot. As a social liberal and fiscal conservative, I could vote for Obama and will probably vote for McCain, but I would never vote for Hillary. She would be even more divisive than Bush and that is saying something.

Isn’t it ironic that the Democrats, the “party of the little people” is going to decide their nomination through the bullshit concept of super delegates. Apparently the party insiders believe their choice is more important than that of the millions of voters who have gone to the polls in the primaries.

Hey Dad! Thanks for commenting… that’s cool, it might be your first blog comment, right? Haha.

Anyway, I wanted to comment back on two things in your comment:
First, while I agree with you about the superdelegate power being too big and undemocratic, I don’t think there will be enough idiot superdelegates to overturn the will of the majority of primary voters. You speak as if they’ve already given it to Hillary and I don’t think that will happen.

Second, I also agree that Hillary is more divisive than Obama but I feel your disdain for Hillary has a lot to do with Bill’s presidency and the lies and affairs he committed. It seems to me that a “social liberal” would not be so outraged at Bill Clinton as to hold it against his wife. Perhaps I’m wrong about the primary reason you oppose her… I’m just speaking from our history and your repeated comments about Clinton 42 being a liar.

PS: what would it take for you to vote for Obama?
