We have a race!! For the first time since this race began, McCain is leading Obama in every major poll. In the six key battleground states, the two candidates take three states each. In the electoral vote count, Obama is still a little ahead. This is the definition of close. It will be interesting to see how these numbers change over the next several weeks. But right now, it is clear that the Republican National Convention, including the acceptance speeches of Palin and McCain, gave the GOP ticket a much needed boost. I account this to the unifying force of the Palin pick. The Republican party is finally united! I expect that the Palin record will continue to be scrutinized by Democrats and the media in an attempt to bring this boost back down. When’s the first debate?
